(Bristol, PA February 2015) David Navazio, Executive Vice President and Founder of Gentell, Inc. (www.gentell.com), a leading manufacturer of wound and skin care products, recently announced the opening of a new West Coast sales office to support growing demand, and the appointment of Arnie Andersen as VP Western Sales.
“Our West Coast business has increased significantly, as many nursing homes and other long- term care facilities have adopted our Total Wound Care Solution. We expect that growth in that region to continue to accelerate,” said David Navazio. “Arnie Andersen has 20 years of sales and sales management experience in the medical device, long term care and wound care markets, including eight years as a Regional Manager with American Medical Technologies. With his extensive experience and familiarity with the region, he is well positioned to help us achieve our growth goals.”
Gentell recently expanded its wound and skin care product lines and added three new production lines at its manufacturing facility in Bristol, PA, to meet growing demand for its products. As a result of this expansion, 16 additional full-time jobs were created in Bristol. The new personnel and additional production capacity gives us the necessary infrastructure to support sales expansion.”

David A. Navazio Announces New QAPI Reporting Features
Now Included In Gentell Fastcare Wound Documentation & Ordering Solution To Help Nursing Homes Meet QAPI Standards
BRISTOL, PA, December 2014 — David A. Navazio, Executive VP and Founder of Gentell Inc, recently announced that the Gentell Fastcare wound documentation and ordering solution now includes Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) reporting capabilities to help nursing homes meet QAPI standards.
The Gentell Fastcare System delivers 24-hour wound care expertise to help nursing homes improve recovery rates, reduce their wound ratios, while lowering their overall cost of operation. To access the Fastcare system, the Treatment Nurse captures images or video of a patient’s wound with a Gentell Fastcare tablet. Encrypted images are then sent via wifi or cellular network to secure Fastcare servers that route the data to Gentell Certified Wound Care Specialists. The Fastcare tablet also enables bedside teleconferencing with Gentell experts for special situations.
QAPI, introduced within the past few years, is the newest quality program mandated by the federal government for nursing homes. In order to comply with its strict requirements, nursing homes are required to collect more data on processes and procedures than they have in the past, and they need to focus quality improvement measures on areas where the data reveals the need.
Gentell Fastcare can help nursing homes accomplish this better, faster and more efficiently than traditional Quality Assurance and Assessment (QA&A) procedures. Gentell’s David Navazio explains that Gentell Fastcare is “the only electronic wound documentation system of its kind that analyzes all the wound care data for a facility, and then uses data mining to generate a QAPI report. The report allows a facility to determine where to begin their analysis of the root causes of, for example, an increase in the number of acquired pressure ulcers or skin tears within a particular unit.” Fastcare also gives facilities the ability to compare the numerical data for different periods in time.
Effective QAPI programs are critical to improving the quality of life, and quality of care and services delivered in nursing homes. For more detailed information on QAPI, click here.
David Navazio Announces New Gentell Collagen Line
Collagen dressings show effectiveness in treating aggressive, chronic wounds
BRISTOL, PA, December 04, 2014 — Gentell, Inc recently announced the introduction of four new collagen products designed to treat chronic, non-healing wounds. Gentell Collagen, a product derived from bovine collagen, is now available in a powdery particle form 1g bottle, or as dressing sheets in 2″ x 2″, 4″ x 5.25″, and 8″ x 12″sizes, for the treatment of aggressive wounds.
Collagen reduces high levels of matrix metalloproteases (MMPs) that break down connective tissue, allowing for increased speed in wound healing. The particle format of collagen lends a greater degree of maneuverability, enabling easier application to a wound area that may have an unusual shape or gash.
In recent applications, Gentell Collagen has demonstrated itself to be effective as a primary dressing for chronic, non-healing wounds; wounds with minimal to heavy exudate; partial- or full-thickness; granulating or necrotic; or second-degree burns.
“This is a proactive approach to wound healing,” noted Gentell Executive Vice President David A. Navazio. “Healthcare providers have regularly commented on the effectiveness of collagen in treating aggressive wounds. Because collagen is a type of material found in our bodies, it readily binds with cellular components to promote optimum healing, creating a latticework for cells to grow on.”
Marie De La Torre, LVN, WCC, DWC, a nurse and wound consultant, recommended Gentell Collagen Particles for a patient in which drainage was not sufficiently being captured. Within two months of its initial use, the wound was 99 percent healed and the patient’s progress had exceeded the doctor’s expectations. “I thought the Gentell Collagen was quite effective,” De La Torre says. “The wound healed more quickly and completely than expected.”
Gentell Acquires H&H Products, A Division of Tri-State Distributors
“Nursing home skincare line expands Gentell line of products.”
BRISTOL, PA, October 30, 2014 — Gentell Executive VP and Founder David Navazio recently announced the acquisition of the assets of H&H Products, a division of Tri-State Surgical Supplies. The acquisition focuses exclusively on wound care and skin care products for nursing homes. H&H manufactures products under the H+H, Sterex Medical, and Gentle Plus brand names.
The H&H product line includes A, D, and E ointment, as well as baby oil, shampoo, baby powder, toothpaste, shaving cream, body spray, deodorant, mouth wash, hand and body lotion, skin moisturizers, ostomy spray cleanser, zinc oxide, and bacitracin. These new product offerings will expand Gentell’s line of skin care, medical products, and skin protection products for nursing homes, hospitals, and home health agencies. The most popular H&H product is A, D, and E ointment, which has been used to effectively treat diaper rash and dry, chapped skin. Formulated with vitamins A, D, and E, the soothing skin rash ointment temporarily protects minor cuts, scrapes and burns.
The “Gentle Plus” line of bath products is also a popular item for nursing homes. Gentle Plus Shaving Cream creates a rich lather that conditions sensitive skin, preventing razor drag and reducing razor burn and nicks. Gentle Plus Hospital Bath Shampoo is a gentle, clean-rinsing shampoo and body wash with a mild, non-alkaline formula that is Bio-Ph balanced. All products are hypoallergenic and dermatologist approved for routine use with sensitive skin.
Integration of the two companies is currently underway, as Gentell moves inventory and machines from the H&H manufacturing facility in Brooklyn to its Bristol, PA facility. Though most of the manufacturing is in-house, items such as baby powder will be manufactured elsewhere. Gentell is redesigning the H&H product packaging for a fresh look with each product. Navazio states, “This demonstrates Gentell’s commitment to providing a complete, across-the-board solution for skin products. We really do make it better.”
For 18 years, Gentell has led the wound and skin care industry in product development and innovative cost-containment programs for nursing homes, hospitals, and home health agencies. The acquisition of H&H Products enables Gentell to provide a full array of skin care and skin protection products that patients need most to heal as quickly and naturally as possible.
